Incandescence Rising Above Darkness Chapter #18 Playing With Paradox
One of my parents was a creature of gigantic gentleness, like a blue whale, the other a creature of unpredictable ferocity, like a lion. The improbable combination of such different beings as my parents was only the first conundrum in my life. The spark of my particular life landed in the womb of an exceptionally kind person, but I was still not safe there. My mother’s selfless consideration could not protect me from my father’s selfish shame turned to violence. I always felt safe with one parent, and I could never let my guard down with the other. There was so much paradox in the life I was born into, so to be at peace with it, it had to become my playmate.
